Lawn Fawn Challenge – Let’s Celebrate

January 9th, 2023

I made this birthday card for a friend for this challenge. I used Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Teacup, and Stitched Teapot dies to make the cute teapot and teacup. The background paper is Lawn Fawn’s Perfectly Plaid Spring, one of my favorite paper pads. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Tea-rrific Day Add On stamp set. I stamped the inside sentiment from the Tea-rrific Day Add-On stamp set.

Lawn Fawnatics Dies Only Challenge Take Two

I just received the adorable Lawn Fawn Garden Gnome die set today. I pictured him relaxing and enjoying a vacation day. I used the Lawn Fawn Flamingo Floatie die set, and the Lawn Fawn Stitched Wavy Backdrop: Portrait die set. My gnome enjoyed chilling out on his floatie in the water. I used the Lawn Fawn Pool Party stamp set for the sentiment.

Lawn Fawnatics Dies Only Challenge

I made this Christmas card for this challenge. I have not posted to this blog for 4 years, so I am very rusty on posting. I just bought the Jolly Christmas die set. I used the Stitched Snowflake Backdrop die, and the Stitched Hillside Backdrop Portrait die to create a background for my Christmas tree. I had fun decorating my Christmas tree. It is very hot right now, here in Florida. It is nice to think of cooler weather, and Christmas.

Simon Says Stamp Doodlebug Challenge — June 4, 2018

Simon Says Stamp Doodlebug Challenge

The theme for this challenge is to use Doodlebug products. I bought this adorable Christmas Squad stamp and die set from a Simon Says Stamp last November. I had already done most of my Christmas cards when I bought it. I knew I wanted to use it this year. I bought several Doodlebug Milk and Cookies 6 by paper pads to go with it.

I made my first card with it tonight. I used Chameleon markers to color the images. I touched them up with some Wink of Stella, and Spectrum Sparkle makers to add some shine. I also added some Sakura Glaze pens for some accents. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss Dandelion Yellow, Ripened Pumpkin, and Carnation Pink for my ornaments on my Christmas tree. I like the dimension and shine they add to the tree.

I used Doodlebug Milk and Cookies red and white striped paper for my wall. The floor was cut from a My Favorite Things paper pad. I used a Versamark Dazzle ink pad to stamp my sentiment. I added Stampendous Winter Wonderland Embossing Powder, and heat embossed my sentiment.

The inside of my card features the cute cookies from this stamp set. The sentiment is an Anna Griffin sentiment that was drawn with my Cricut Explore, using Cricut gel pens.

I love this stamp set, and will be making more of these cards. I learned that it is much easier to do the heat embossing before you add all of the elements to your card. I had fun making this card. The cute images make me smile. I hope there are more stamp sets made with adorable Doodlebug images!

Doodlebug Toucan Card for Simon Says Stamp Challenge — June 3, 2018

Doodlebug Toucan Card for Simon Says Stamp Challenge

I just love Doodlebug, and have so many of their wonderful paper collections, washi tape, and sprinkles. I really liked this Doodlebug Toucan image. I purchased it on LoriWhitlock.com . I cut it out on my Cricut Explore, using Die Cuts With a View shimmer paper. I used a cute patterned paper from Doodlebug’s Fun In the Sun paper collection for my background. I thought the Toucan needed a little white touch to his eye, so I added a drop of Crystal Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White. The Toucan made me smile, so I added the Lawn Fawn Scripty Smile sentiment to the front of the http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/

I love Doodlebug, and have been buying their paper collections for years ! For this card, I used a Doodlebug Flamingo SVG file that I bought on Lori Whitlock’s site, LoriWhitlock.com . I cut it out with my Cricut Explore, using Die Cuts With a View Shimmer paper in various colors. For my background, I used two Sizzix 3D Embossing Folders- Tropical Leaves, and  Cobblestone. I liked the flamingo with the tropical leaves, and thought that he needed some water to stand in. I added a strip of Doodlebug Washi tape to the front to blend the two embossing panels. For the inside of my card, I used Lawn Fawn’s Scripty Smile die, and another strip of Doodlebug Flamingo washi tape. I just love this Flamingo. Doodlebug makes the cutest images!

Lawn Fawn Underwater Card —

Lawn Fawn Underwater Card

For this card, I used the Lawn Fawn You Are Sublime stamp and die set. I used Lawn Fawn’s Watercolor Wishes in blue and green for my waves. I used Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Ocean Waves dies to cut the waves on my card. I layered my waves on my card front, and added my stamped images to the waves.

For the inside of my card, I used Lawn Fawn’s Shadow Box die. I like the cute card it makes, but want it to be bigger. I added it to the inside of my card, as an interactive element. I used a new Sizzix 3 D embossing folder and inked it with Distress Oxides to make it look like water. I also die cut a piece of Lawn Fawn paper with Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle die to add my sentiment. I like that the shadow box is hidden, and opening the card gives you an unexpected surprise.

Lawn Fawn Amusement Park card — May 30, 2018

Lawn Fawn Amusement Park card

For this card, I used my new Lawn Fawn Coaster Critters stamp and die set. I thought it would go great with the Lawn Fawn Admit One stamp set, so I added that too. I wanted to find more cute little critters sized the same as the Coaster Critters. I found an adorable little chipmunk on the Lawn Fawn Joy to the Woods stamp set. I also found a cute set of squirrels and a bird on the Lawn Fawn Cheery Christmas stamp set. All of the images were colored with Chameleon markers. I am not very good at alcohol markers, so I am learning with these markers. The paper used for the card was Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Spring, and Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka in the Meadow. The dies used were Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Backdrop Portrait, and Lawn Fawn Stitched Cloud Backdrop Portrait.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge — May 21, 2018

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge

For this challenge, I played with the Lawn Fawn One in a Chameleon stamp and die set. I colored the images with Zig Clean Color brush markers. The chameleon needed some sparkle, so I added a clear color Spectrum Sparkle marker to him. I used Lawn Fawn Circle Stackables for my inner circle. The outer circle was cut with my new Lawn Fawn Zig Zag Circle Stackables. The sentiment strip was cut with My Favorite Things Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips. I decided that a white sentiment strip was too plain for this chameleon. I used my Distress Oxide, and Distress Inks to give it more of a rainbow look. I used Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Salty Ocean, and Lucky Clover to spice up the sentiment strip.

The background was a Sizzix Time Holtz 3 D Embossing Folder, called Lumber. Love how it gives the look and texture of wood. I inked it with Distress inks and Oxides as well. I used Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, and Broken China to ink up my “wood”

I think this colorful chameleon enjoys the colors all around him!
